8/22/2015 0 Comments School Girl Whose Naked Pictures Were Taken By The Police Is Suing The Gov't, SeeksĀ Ksh 7M CompensationĀThe school girl who had her naked pictures taken by the police at the Sagana Police Base when she was arrested in possession of an illegal drug is suing the government. According to the law suit, the girl who was arrested together with another 44 students, is seeking a compensation of 7 Million Kenya Shillings from the government.
Following her arrest, the police searched her and during the whole process they opted to take naked pictures of her. The photos reached plenty of people thanks to social media and many of those who saw the photos agreed that the police shouldn't have taken the pictures in the first place. The girl is suing the Director of public Prosecution, the Attorney General and the Inspector General over the incident. The school girl will be represented by Kioko Munyithia Ngugi and company advocates. According to the girl, the officers who took her naked pictures violated her security, privacy, rights that are awarded to arrested individuals and access to justice. She also termed the action by the police as a violation of her very own fundamental rights and freedom. Her lawyers are demanding that the case she is facing regarding the possession of bhang be halted until the petition they have filed be has been heard and determined.
