The nominees which include 3 Kenyan artist were announced on Wednesday, 16 April at The Sands in Johannesburg, South Africa. These years nominees sees only 3 Kenyan artists namely Sauti Sol (Best group), Amani (Best collaboration) and Lupita Nyongo (Personality of the year) (yes she is Kenyan) being nominated for the prestigious awards. This might be a clear indication that Kenyan music is quickly falling out of favor with many in the African continent.
