1/9/2014 0 Comments LG GIVES SAMSUNG SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT WITH THEIR NEW 77-INCH OLED UHD TV THAT BENDS ON COMMAND While Samsung were probably thinking of inventing another not so use full gadget like the Samsung Gear, LG revealed a one of a kind TV in the ongoing Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas Neveda , to be specific LG showcased a game changing TV set, a 77 inch OLED UHD TV that bends on command, yes it bends, the TV can transform in front of your eyes from a flat screen to a curved one in a matter of seconds upon command, sounds pretty cool I must admit. Based on what tech experts are saying, LG is calling it the world first bendable OLED UHD TV. I bet you might be wondering what makes it bend without affecting and interfering with anything, according to tech website engadget.com the bending is due to a combination of “water and gears”. The TV in itself is set to hit the US market late this year or early next year, and given that the world is a global village so they say we should expect the one of a kind TV to debut in our Kenyan market mid next year. LG are claiming that they have been working on it for over one and a half year and it moves 7.5 cm to bend, making it eight centimeters narrower in total at full curve. If you will be among the lucky few to have this set, you can also choose the degree of curvature. If you were thinking that the curved TV was a bit farfetched, get this, LG’s future plans is to develop fully flexible TVs and transparent sets. Chances are that this game changing TV set change will change the dynamics of the TV market which is highly dominated by tech giant Samsung, We are hoping that they won’t over price the set, but based on what tech experts are saying the TV might pass the one million ksh asking price Arnold Obat contributed to this report.
