LUPITA NYONGO IS THE NEW FACE OF LAN-COME

Award winning actress Lupita Nyong’o is officially the new face of Lan-come, a big cosmetic company in France which is quite popular with teens. These move by Lan-come may come as a surprise to many as these cosmetics company has never had a black ambassador for its product.

When asked about there selection of Lupita Nyongo to represent their brand the general manger, Françoise Lehmann of lan-come was quoted saying that, "the company’s decision to pick Lupita Nyongo was because she is “talented and committed, true to her African beauty, and showing a great curiosity and open-mindedness in her career choices.”

Not only is these endorsement a major deal for these Oscar award winning actress, but she will join other big celebrities who are ambassadors of these cosmetics, Lupita Nyongo will be joining the likes of Julia Roberts, Kate Winslet, and Penelope Cruz as promoters of the brand.
Wheen asked about the endorsement, this is what Lupita Nyongo had to say, “I am truly honoured to join the Maison Lancôme, a brand with such a prestigious history that I have always loved.
“I am particularly proud to represent its unique vision for women and the idea that beauty should not be dictated, but should instead be an expression of a woman’s freedom to be herself.”
Lupita's fame was magnified since she won the Academy Award this year in the category of Best Supporting Actress for her portrayal of Patsey in the Steve McQueen-directed 12 years a slave movie.
Lupita Nyongo's endorsement may not come as a surprise after wining the Oscars because the company has been associating itself with academy award winning actress in fact She is the fourth Academy Award-winning Lancome ambassador.
Lancome advertisements featuring Lupita are due start appearing this summer.
